Depending on the drive type
Electric type – An electric motor typically drives the system, making it suitable for providing a stable power supply to fixed mechanical equipment. It operates with low noise and is most commonly used in industrial hydraulics.
Motorised – A diesel engine serves as the prime mover, eliminating the need for a power supply. It is easy to use in remote areas without electricity or where circuits are scarce, making it ideal for field operations with various types of construction equipment. However, it operates louder and is used less frequently. Most of the travelling machines are driven by diesel engines.

Depending on the output pressure
We can divide the hydraulic power pack unit into low pressure, medium pressure, medium and high pressure, high pressure, and ultra-high pressure categories based on the hydraulic pumping unit’s high and low output pressure:
Low-pressure pumping station p≤2.5MPa.
Medium pressure pumping station p>2.5~8MPa.
Medium and high pressure pumping station p>8~16MPa,
High pressure pumping station p>16~32MPa.
Ultra-high pressure pumping station p>32MPa.
By Output Flow Rate Characteristics
We can divide the hydraulic power pack unit into two kinds based on the output flow characteristics of the hydraulic pump group: quantitative hydraulic stations and variable hydraulic stations. Different output pressure and flow characteristics apply to various host conditions and work requirements.
If you use a quantitative hydraulic station, you can equip it with either a single quantitative pump or multiple quantitative pumps, depending on the hydraulic system’s flow rate requirements.

If you use a variable hydraulic station, you can subdivide it according to the pressure-flow rate adjustment characteristics into constant power type, constant pressure type, constant flow type, pressure-limiting type, and pressure cut-off type.
In the actual use of the project, more pressure-compensated variable pump oil supply, when the hydraulic system reaches the established pressure, the hydraulic oil is not from the relief valve high-pressure overflow out, but by reducing the flow of the pump output to achieve the role of safety protection.
According to the form of the mechanism of the pump unit
Top-mounted horizontal: The pump unit mounts horizontally on the tank cover and mainly facilitates flow regulation for variable vane pump systems.

Horizontal side-mounted: We mount the pump unit horizontally on a separate base next to the tank. We can equip a standby pump with this side-mounted setup, which mainly serves systems with tanks that have a large capacity of 250 liters or more and motor power of 7.5 kilowatts or higher.

Top-mounted vertical: We mount the pump unit vertically on the tank cover, and we mainly use this setup for dosing pump systems.

Lower type: Installing the pump below the liquid level in the tank improves the suction conditions of the hydraulic pump. You can use either a rectangular oil tank or a round tank-shaped oil tank.

By size of hydraulic power pack unit
According to the size of the hydraulic station, it can be divided into three categories:
Smaller single-machine hydraulic power pack unit, usually power or composite integral hydraulic station. Usually we say that the hydraulic pump station generally refers to small hydraulic station.
Compact design and small footprint are the main advantages of compact hydraulic stations, also called power units.

We mostly use a composite split structure for medium-sized unit-type hydraulic power pack units.
Large-scale, centralised hydraulic power pack unit of the high-mounted type allow centralised management of the hydraulic system.

By degree of versatility
We can divide it into two types: specialized hydraulic power pack units and general-purpose hydraulic power pack units, according to the degree of generality. The dedicated hydraulic power pack unit primarily serves industrial equipment. It is designed and manufactured specifically to meet the unique process requirements of the host. As a result, it is generally not universal.

The general-purpose hydraulic power pack unit integrates most of the control components, hydraulic pumps, drive motors, and tanks together. This type of hydraulic device typically features a portable structure. Its volume and weight is small, generally by the hydraulic components factory specialised production.
