Cartridge valves and what we call ordinary hydraulic control valves are different, its flow rate can reach 1000L/min, diameter up to 200 ~ 250mm. spool structure is simple, sensitive action, good sealing. Its function is relatively simple. It mainly achieves the flow or shutoff of the liquid. We use it in combination with ordinary hydraulic control valves to control the direction of the system fluid, as well as pressure and flow. The same diameter of the three components of the same installation size, but the structure of the spool form and sleeve seat diameter is different.

We use cartridge valves in a wide variety of fluid control applications. The components applied include solenoid-operated directional valves, check valves, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, flow-control valves, and sequence valves. The versatility in designing fluid power circuits highlights the importance of cartridge valves. Additionally, their ability to extend mechanical utility further demonstrates their significance for system designers and applicators. Due to their versatile assembly process, common valve bore specifications, and interchangeability, we can achieve perfect design configurations with cartridge valves. This versatility also allows us to use cartridge valves widely in various hydraulic machinery.
Small size and low cost
The benefits to the user of mass production are apparent even before the block is assembled at the end of the line. A complete control system using a cartridge valve design can significantly reduce manufacturing man-hours for the user. We can test each element of the control system independently before assembling it into an integrated block. Then, we can test the entire block before sending it to the user.
The user can achieve significant savings in manufacturing man-hours. This is due to the reduced number of components that we need to install. Additionally, the simplified pipework connections contribute to these savings. A significant increase in reliability due to a reduction in system contaminants, fewer leak points and fewer assembly errors. The application of cartridge valves realises the efficiency and convenience of the system.
Cartridge Valve Classification:
We can divide them into: 2-way cartridge directional valves, 2-way cartridge pressure valves, and 2-way cartridge flow valves.

In the figure, A and B are the only two working oil ports in the main oil circuit, and K is the control oil port (connected with the pilot valve). When the K port returns oil, the valve spool opens, connecting A and B. Conversely, when we feed oil into the K port, A and B close off from each other.
